Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, GAO Research Inc. is a provider of quality and reliable telecommunications software for a wide range of DSPs and microprocessors. It has established its reputation as an R&D power-house in the embedded industry and is reputed for its fax modem software. Fax modems need fax software to operate, and GAO's most recent offering, V29 fax modem software, has a quick connect feature and provides full-duplex data transmission over four-wire leased lines. This line of fax modem software products also includes the V 27ter Fax software, the ITU-T T.4 and the ITU-T V.34, which can operate in either half or full duplex modes. The fax modem software uses amplitude and phase modulation for synchronous transmission and is the modulation technique used in Group 3 fax for fax data transfer at 9600 and 7200 bps on two-wire lines. V29 implements the ITU-T V.29 Recommendation. The GAO V27ter fax modem software is used in the general switched telephone network and implements the ITU-T V.27ter Recommendation. The ITU-T mission not only ensures the timely production of standards that encompasses all fields of international communication, but also defines the accounting principles for international. The standards produced by it are called as “Recommendations.” GAO's T4- TIFF conversion software enables conversion between ITU-T T.4 Recommendation fax file format and TIFF, which are the industry standards for image file exchange and almost all images processing software support this format. The ITU-T V.34 is the standard for dial up modems of up to 33,600bps and is said to be more adaptable than the lower V series modems, as it makes the best use of available conditions. Unlike lower modem standards where nominal bandwidth was fixed with fixed carrier frequency, both the bandwidth and carrier frequencies are adaptive in V.34. Other fax modem protocols and fax relay protocols are included in this line. All these products belong to the GAO’s family of Fax Software. GAO provides the most comprehensive and unique suite of modem, fax, telephony, speech software, VoIP, FoIP, fax relay and fax/modem/voice relay software for embedded applications for DSP and microprocessors. GAO Research Inc. has developed an algorithm that is designed to help noise be filtered out without the benefit of professional help. The algorithm helps suppress both stationary and non-stationary background noise from human speech and is releasing both a paid and a free version of the algorithm. Edited by Ashley Caputo |
