GAO Research, a provider of communications software including embedded modem software, fax software, speech codes and telephony software, announced the latest addition to its fax software family.

The new V.29 fax modem software comes with a quick connect feature. The fax software implements the ITU-T V.29. It is capable of offering full-duplex data transmission at rates of 9600, 7200, and 4800 bps over 4-wire leased lines.

The fax modem software uses amplitude and phase modulation for synchronous transmissions and can operate in either half of full duplex modes. It consists of both transmission and receiving functions for symbol transfer in groups of 2 or 4 bits at rates of 2400 symbols per second respectively.

The amplitude and phase modulation technique for synchronous transmission is commonly used in the Group 3 fax (G3 fax) for fax data transfer at 9600 and 7200 bps on 2-wire lines.Further, the new fax modem software from GAO Research  is highly optimized in C. It also supports multiple channels.

Fax software is a viable alternative to traditional fax machines. Organizations can reduce costs, and become more agile in their operations by replacing their traditional fax technology with next generation fax software that is based on IP technologies.

GAO's family of fax software solutions provides the most comprehensive and unique suite of modem, fax, telephony, speech software, VoIP, FoIP, fax relay and fax/modem/voice relay software for embedded applications for DSP and microprocessors.

Other important products included in GAO’s fax software family include V.27ter Fax Software, T.4 - TIFF Conversion Software and V.34 Fax Modem Software. The V.27ter Fax Software implements the ITU-T V.27ter Recommendation and finds the best application in the general switched telephone network. T.4 - TIFF Conversion Software enables conversion between the ITU-T T.4 Recommendation fax file format and the Tagged Image File Format (TIFF), while V.34 Fax Modem Software is designed to include a greater number of operational capabilities and flexibility than its predecessors.
