Fax Software Featured ArticleGAO Research's V.29 Fax Modem Software Operates in Half and Full Duplex Modes
January 14, 2013
GAO Research Inc., a provider of high quality, reliable telecommunications software, is now offering its V.29 fax modem software, which implements the ITU-T V.29 Recommendation and provides full-duplex data transmission at rates of 9600, 7200, and 4800 bps over 4-wire leased lines. This high performance V.29 fax modem software belongs to GAO's family of fax software products. GAO's family of products provides the most comprehensive and unique suite of modem, fax, telephony, speech software, VoIP, FoIP, fax relay and fax/modem/voice relay software for embedded applications for DSP and microprocessors. The V.29 fax modem software can operate in either half or full duplex modes. It has a “quick connect” feature and has both transmission and receiving functions for symbol transfer in groups of two or four bits at rates of 2400 symbols per second respectively. The fax modem software uses amplitude and phase modulation for synchronous transmission. This is the same modulation technique that is used in Group 3 fax (G3 fax) for fax data transfer at 9600 and 7200 bps on two-wire lines. In addition, it is more useful as it is highly optimized in C and multi-channel ready. GAO Research also has other products including V.27ter Fax Software, which implements the ITU-T V.27ter Recommendation. It is used in the general switched telephone network, T.4 - TIFF Conversion Software, which enables conversion between the ITU-T T.4 Recommendation fax file format and the Tagged Image File Format (TIFF). It is also used in the V.34 Fax Modem Software, which incorporates a higher level of optional capabilities, intelligence, and adaptability compared to the lower V series modems as they can make the best use of the available conditions. T.30/T.30E and T.4 fax modem protocols, and T.38 fax relay protocols are also included in this line of products by GAO Research. Founded in 1992, GAO Research began as a modest company providing consulting services in DSP algorithms and audio software. The company strategically repositioned itself in 1995 to target the embedded communications market. Today, GAO's product family has been providing the most comprehensive and unique suite of modem, telephony, fax, speech software, VoIP, FoIP, fax relay and fax/modem/voice relay software for embedded applications for both DSP and microprocessors for customers spread all over the world.
